Flip and Clip Mixtures/Solutions Charts
This includes 5 flip and clip charts. It will ask students to identify either mixtures or solutions. Students clip the correct answers and then flip to self check.
How I used in my class:
Students worked independently.
They Made a T-Chart showing mixtures and solutions in their notebooks.
When they got an answer incorrect, they wrote the answer under the correct heading in their T-Charts.
Some of the more challenging mixtures/solutions REPEAT to give students a chance to remember and practice them again later.
Force, motion, and energy game
This boardgames includes 30 rigors questions. It has a set of QR answers and a regular answer sheet.
5.6 Force, motion, and energy. The student knows that energy occurs in many forms and can be observed in cycles, patterns, and systems. The student is expected to:
(A) explore the uses of energy, including mechanical, light, thermal, electrical, and sound energy;
(B) demonstrate that the flow of electricity in circuits requires a complete path through which an electric current can pass and can produce light, heat, and sound;
(C) demonstrate that light travels in a straight line until it strikes an object or travels through one medium to another and demonstrate that light can be reflected such as the use of mirrors or other shiny surfaces and refracted such as the appearance of an object when observed through water; and
(D) design an experiment that tests the effect of force on an object.
Properties of Matter Review Boardgame
This board game includes 30 rigors multiple choice cards
There is an answer key and also a set of QR code answers if you want students to self check.
Content addressed:
Matter and energy. The student knows that matter has measurable physical properties and those properties determine how matter is classified, changed, and used. The student is expected to:
classify matter based on physical properties, including mass, magnetism, physical state (solid, liquid, and gas), relative density (sinking and floating), solubility in water, and the ability to conduct or insulate thermal energy or electric energy;
identify the boiling and freezing/melting points of water on the Celsius scale;
demonstrate that some mixtures maintain physical properties of their ingredients such as iron filings and sand; and
identify changes that can occur in the physical properties of the ingredients of solutions such as dissolving salt in water or adding lemon juice to water.
Card Sort: Electrical Circuit (open or closed)
This set includes 16 picture and word cards that can be sorted under either an open or closed circuit. This is a great resource to use at the end of a lesson for a quick check, test prep review, or small group reteach.
Reflection refraction card sort
Simply print and cut out cards for students to organize under the correct reflection or refraction heading
Includes 18 pictures and real life word story examples
Animal Adaptations Task Cards
Includes ten task cards and a set of answers. Each "answer card" has an explanation as to why it is the answer.
Plant Adaptation Task Cards
Includes ten task cards and a set of answers. Each "answer card" has an explanation as to why it is the answer.
Some questions on the cards include:
"Which fact explains the adaptation best used to help the plant reproduce?"
"Which fact explains the adaptation best used to help the plant survive in a desert ecosystem?"
"Which fact explains the adaptation best used to help the plant survive the harsh winds of the grasslands?"
"Based on these facts, which ecosystem is the plant most likely to be found"
Mixture/Solution Card Sort
Includes 28 cards to sort into two categories: Mixtures or Solutions.
Alternative Energy Card Sort
Includes 5 title cards
-solar energy
-wind energy
-geothermal energy
-hydroelectric energy
-biofuels
Includes 12 sorting cards
includes descriptions and picture cards
Life Cycle Task Cards
This set includes 10 task cards, each with a visual. There are also ten "answer" cards that have full explanations for each correct answer.
There are two types of cards. Half the cards compare two life cycles and the other half analyze a single life cycle.
This set is for upper elementary students.
Slow Changes; Weathering, Erosion, Deposition Card Sort
18 cards to sort into one of the three headings; includes answers
Weather Climate Card Sort
